The US Visa RFE - Letter of Intent

Evidence. Proof. Something to make them believe that I am not a mail-order bride, and that I will not be a burden to the US of A.

I don't think I'll ever be a burden... consider that I am already working for a US company, right? Oh well, that's not how the consulate determines one's qualification. No matter how much you love Spam.

Okay, so a month ago Alex Polar Bear received a notice that we should provide further evidence (RFE) of our relationship and they have requested a Letter of Intent to support this fact. I was quite busy during that time so it took me a while to send the document.

So what is this so-called Letter of Intent?

This letter simply states that you will marry your fiance upon your arrival in the USA

 This should also serve as proof that you have no malicious plans in entering the country. To bluntly say it, you are certifying that you are not just using your fiance to get into the USA and leave him after you arrive

In this regard, you are also proving in writing that you are in a genuine relationship

I thought that photographs and the other documents that we included were enough but apparently not. So to avoid delays, like in our case, don't forget to include this letter upon your initial submission.

Now we're just waiting for the results with fingers crossed! We have until June 9th to wait but hopefully it comes earlier so we can start the next process. I know it's taking long but it's worth all the wait. I'm gonna stop worrying from so far away now.
